There are plenty of new Yo Gotti mixtapes that people like to have in their collection of underground rap music. The latest mixtape that came out in 2010 has created quite a stir both on the internet and in the streets across the United States. He has done a series of tapes called "CM" which is an acronym for the subject matter on the tapes. The first CM tape came out back in the early 2000's and is considered a collector's item by many fans. Although he put a lot of time, effort, and hard work into the creation of his project, he did not expect people to like it as much as they did.
Eventually, most of his CM mixtapes were re-released as albums instead of just tapes. Even though they retained the deejay shout outs, they still sounded better than the majority of music that was coming out at the time. He has continued the series and done work with hip hop moguls like DJ Drama, DJ Smallz, and more. When he first released these, there were other artists in his home state of Tennessee already experiencing success and fame. The group Triple 6 Mafia, also known as Three 6 Mafia, was making a lot of music for the streets at the time and their sound was well received due to the rawness in their lyrics and production from DJ Paul.
The community of Northern Memphis though, was hungry for a new sound as well. This is how Yo Gotti got promoted to the next level. In fact, he put out mixed tapes whenever he was not busy working on his next album. Some of his legendary material included the tapes entitled "I Told U So" and "Pyrex King." Each of these projects was available at designated distributors on the internet, and within a matter of a couple years, they went on to be downloaded thousands of times. Far before the internet was used to promote him as an artist, he promoted himself independently.
He sold hard copies of his mixtapes and albums to anyone that wanted one. People that he frequently saw and talked to promoted their friend and Yo Gotti because they wanted to see him succeed. These days, he still goes back to the neighborhood from which he grew up to encourage the youth that they can do anything if they put their mind to it. He had to overcome a lot of personally challenging situations to increase his fan base. It seems as though whenever more new Yo Gotti mixtapes come out, they further increase his popularity. For this artist, all of the success he has experienced is very well deserved; he earned it.
